On 2 November 2026 Wix launched Studio Two, a new editor built around AI. Its headline feature is page generation: describe what you need, and Wix’s AI agent, Aria 2.0, drafts the site and its pages for you to refine. As a WIX Legend Partner with early access, we’ve been looking at what it does well, where it still needs a human, and what it means if your business runs on Wix.

What is Wix Studio Two?

Studio Two is Wix’s new editor for professional web designers and agencies. Wix describes it as AI-native: AI generation, a visual design canvas and standard React code in one place. Wix says it brings around 60 major new features.

It isn’t available to everyone yet. Wix is rolling it out to its partners first, followed by a gradual rollout to all users. Existing Wix Studio sites remain supported, so nothing changes for a live Studio site unless you choose to move it.

how it works/

How AI page generation works in Studio Two

Generation starts from a brief rather than a blank page or a template. Based on Wix’s own walkthrough, creating a site with AI looks like this:

  1. Describe the site. Type what the business does and what the site needs to achieve.
  2. Add your material. Attach photos and media, design references such as screenshots or colour palettes, and business documents for background. You can also give Aria the address of a website whose look and feel you like. It uses it as a design reference and doesn’t copy that site’s content or structure.
  3. Agree the brief. Either plan the site in a chat with Aria, or let Aria fill in the brief itself. The brief covers the description, site styles, page structure, files and design references, and you can edit each part.
  4. Choose a direction. Aria proposes three homepage designs from the same brief. They share the brand, colours and typography but differ in layout.
  5. Refine in the editor. The full site opens in the Studio Two editor, where you can change anything by hand or ask Aria to build pages and sections, rewrite content or restyle the site.

The brief is where you steer it. At the design stage Aria makes high-level decisions; detailed layout changes happen in the editor afterwards. A vague brief gets you a generic site, and a sharp one gets you a useful first draft.

where it helps/

Where AI page generation genuinely helps

The real gain isn’t a homepage in minutes. It’s the pages that used to be too slow or expensive to build one at a time.

A landing page for every audience

Advertising works best when the page matches what each person searched for. Separate pages for, say, homeowners, architects and trade buyers used to mean building each one by hand. With AI drafting the structure and first copy, a page per audience becomes realistic.

Faster first drafts

It’s easier to react to a draft than to a blank page. A generated layout and wording give you and your designer something concrete to change, so the conversation starts further on.

Campaign and seasonal pages

Events, offers and launches often need a page for a few weeks. If the page can be drafted quickly in the site’s own style, it gets made rather than put off.

Exploring a redesign

Three directions from one brief is a quick way to see different layouts side by side before committing time and budget to one.

the catch/

What AI still can’t do for you

Generated pages save time, but they don’t remove the need for judgement. Wix’s own guidance is clear that Aria can produce unexpected or inaccurate results, and that you should review what it generates before publishing. In practice that means checking:

  • The facts. Prices, services, opening hours, accreditations and claims must be right. AI will happily write a confident sentence that isn’t true of your business.
  • Search intent. A page only ranks or converts if it answers what people actually search for. That comes from keyword research and your Google Ads data, which the AI only knows if you put it in the brief.
  • Your brand and tone. A generic page that could belong to any company won’t win the enquiry.
  • Accessibility and performance. Headings, alt text, contrast and page weight still need checking before a page goes live.

A few practical limits are worth knowing too. Aria works on the desktop layout only, so it can’t change the mobile or tablet design, and those still need attention by hand. A site created with AI can’t be switched to a different template later. And some of Wix Studio’s coding features, such as the Wix IDE, Git integration and Velo packages, aren’t in Studio Two yet, so a site that depends on custom code needs checking before it moves.

less lock-in/

Export to React, edit with Claude, bring it back

The feature that interests us most as developers sits alongside page generation. Wix says you can export a Studio Two project as a standard React project, keep working on it in Claude, Codex, Cursor or any code editor, and then bring it back into Studio Two. Wix also says an enterprise client can export the site and host it in their own environment.

That is a real step towards owning your website’s code, though not a complete one. Wix’s feature list marks the export as beta. It works as a snapshot rather than a live sync, importing replaces the site, sites with dynamic pages can’t be exported yet, and the exported site still relies on Wix for media, fonts and business features.

should you move?/

Should your Wix site move to Studio Two?

There’s no need to rush. Existing Wix Studio sites remain supported, and Studio Two is still rolling out. If your site is on the classic Wix Editor, moving it is a project in its own right, so it’s worth planning rather than doing in a hurry.

Studio Two is likely to suit you if:

  • you need new pages often, for example landing pages for Google Ads campaigns;
  • your team wants to edit visually without waiting for a developer;
  • your site is mainly marketing pages rather than complex business logic.

If your website is the front of a system that runs your business, with logins, portals or processes no platform models properly, a bespoke build or our own Hydra CMS may still be the better fit. We’re happy to tell you which, and why.

questions/

Wix Studio Two questions

Can everyone use Studio Two now?

Not yet. Wix is rolling it out to partners first, then gradually to all users.

Will my current Wix Studio site stop working?

No. Wix says existing Wix Studio sites remain supported.

Can the AI build a whole website?

It can draft one from a brief, with three homepage directions to choose from. Every page still needs checking and editing before it goes live, including the mobile layout, which Aria doesn’t change.

Can I take my site’s code off Wix?

Studio Two can export a site as React code, in beta. The exported site still depends on Wix for media, fonts and business features.
