You've written a great article. Now it needs readers, and for most businesses that means social media sharing: a post on LinkedIn, another on Facebook, a shorter one for X, something for Instagram. Each network has its own length limits, picture sizes and habits, so sharing one article properly can easily take half an hour.
The latest release of Hydra CMS, our own content management system, adds the Share kit. Every page and blog post now comes with ready-to-post copy for six social networks, a share picture at the right size for each, a one-click link to each network's own post window, and tracking that shows which networks actually bring visitors back.
- 6 social networks
- Posts written for you
- Pictures sized for you
- Every click tracked
why it matters/
Social media sharing shouldn't take longer than writing the post
Most small businesses know they should share every article they publish. Few do it consistently, because each network wants something slightly different: LinkedIn rewards a longer, thoughtful post, X allows 280 characters, Instagram needs a portrait picture, and Bluesky and Threads have limits of their own. Get it wrong and your post is cut off, your picture is cropped badly, or your link shows the wrong title.
Even when the posts go out, most businesses have no idea which ones worked. A like is not a visitor, and a visitor is not an enquiry. The Share kit fixes both problems at once, inside the CMS you already use.
- 6networks in one panel
LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, Bluesky and Threads, each with its own ready-made post.
- 3picture sizes made for you
Landscape for LinkedIn, Facebook and X, portrait for Instagram, plus a square version.
- 30 daysof visits back, per network
Every card shows how many visitors its link has brought to your website over the last month.
how it works/
How the Share kit works
The Share kit sits below the images on every saved page and blog post in Hydra. There's nothing to set up and nothing to install.
Publish your article
Write and save your page or blog post as usual. Hydra reads its headline, description, headings, questions and hashtags.
Open the Share kit
One card per network, each with a post already written to fit that network's length limit, and a label saying which network suits this article best.
Copy, tweak and post
Edit the words if you like, then Copy post and Open composer. The network's own post window opens in a new tab, ready to paste and send.
Watch the visits come back
Mark the card as posted. Every click on your link is counted in Hydra's built-in analytics, by network and by page.
what you get/
Everything you need to share an article, on one card
ready-to-post/
A post written from your article
Each card holds a draft built from your headline, description, headings and hashtags, already within that network's limit. Change it as much as you like; it saves on its own, and Reset to draft brings the original back.
best fit/
Which network suits this article
Hydra rates every network as a Best, Good or Fair fit for the page, from its length, headings, questions, picture, hashtags and how recent it is, so you know where to post first when time is short.
character count/
A live count against each limit
The counter turns amber near the limit and red over it. On X it counts every link as 23 characters, exactly as X does, so nothing gets cut off.
share pictures/
A picture at the right size
Hydra makes a share picture from your article's image with its headline laid over it, in landscape for LinkedIn, Facebook and X and portrait for Instagram. Download image gives you the right one.
one click/
Straight to the network's post window
Open composer opens LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Bluesky or Threads in a new tab, ready for your post. For LinkedIn you can even put the link in the first comment, which many people find gets better reach.
optional ai/
Three fresh variations on demand
With a Claude API key saved in Hydra's settings, each card can write three alternative posts to choose from, so a regular share never reads the same twice.
track conversions/
See which social networks actually send you visitors
Every link in the Share kit carries tracking tags that name the network (for example ?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=social). When someone clicks through, Hydra's built-in analytics records which network they came from and which article they read. That turns each social post into a measurable result: not just likes, but real visits to your website.
- Visits and visitors by network in Analytics › Shared links
- Clicks broken down by the page that was shared
- A 30-day visit count on every Share kit card
- App clicks counted as social, not "direct"
- A dashboard reminder when a post is three months old and ready to reshare
- No cookies, no third-party scripts and no IP addresses stored
Because Hydra's analytics are cookieless and run on your own website, they work alongside Google Analytics and your wider digital marketing without adding another tracking service or another cookie banner choice.
Post where your audience is, then let the numbers tell you where that is. The Share kit turns social media from guesswork into something you can measure.
the difference/
Sharing by hand vs sharing with Hydra
Sharing by hand
Six networks.
Six times the work.
- No: Rewrite the same post for every network
- No: Guess each network's character limit
- No: Resize and crop pictures yourself
- No: No idea which posts brought visitors
- No: Good articles forgotten after one share
The Hydra Share kit
One panel.
Every network covered.
- Yes: A post written for each network, ready to paste
- Yes: A live character count against every limit
- Yes: Share pictures made at the right sizes
- Yes: Every click tracked by network and page
- Yes: A reminder when an article is ready to reshare
common questions/
Hydra Share kit: frequently asked questions
Does the Share kit post to social media for me?
No. The Hydra Share kit prepares everything (the post, the picture and the tracking link) and opens each network's own post window, but nothing is ever posted without you. You stay in control of what goes out, and when.
Which social networks does the Share kit support?
The Share kit in Hydra CMS covers LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, Bluesky and Threads. Instagram has no web post window, so you copy the post and download the portrait picture to share from your phone.
How does the Share kit track visits from social media?
Each link carries tracking tags naming the network. When someone clicks through, Hydra's built-in, cookieless analytics records the visit against that network and page, and shows the totals under Analytics › Shared links and on each card.
How do I get the Share kit on my website?
Every website built on Hydra CMS receives the Share kit automatically with its regular updates. If your site runs on another platform, talk to Cirrus Design Studio about moving to Hydra or about our website design and development.
